Cookie Policy

How we use cookies and similar technologies across the EvoPoint website and platform.

About cookies

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device by the websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site's operator. Similar technologies, such as browser local storage and pixel tags, are used for comparable purposes and are covered by this policy.

This is a template policy intended for review by your legal advisers. It is provided to help organisations understand the categories of cookies that EvoPoint sets and how those cookies are managed.

How we use cookies

EvoPoint uses a small number of cookies to keep you signed in, to protect against cross-site request forgery, to remember your interface preferences, and to understand how the platform is used so that we can improve it. We do not use cookies for behavioural advertising, and we do not allow third parties to use cookies for that purpose on our surfaces.

When you first visit our website, a consent banner allows you to accept or decline non-essential categories of cookies. You can change your preferences at any time through the preferences centre.

Categories of cookies we use

We group the cookies we set into three categories, in line with guidance from the Information Commissioner's Office.

Strictly necessary

These cookies are essential to operate the platform and cannot be disabled. They include the session cookie that keeps you signed in, a CSRF token cookie that protects against cross-site request forgery, and the encrypted refresh token cookie used by the authentication system.

  • Session - maintains your authenticated session within the dashboard.
  • CSRF token - verifies that requests originate from the EvoPoint application.
  • Refresh token - an HTTP-only, secure cookie used to renew your access token.

Functional

These cookies remember choices you make to personalise your experience. They are off by default and are only set with your consent.

  • Theme preference - remembers whether you have selected light or dark mode.
  • Language - remembers your preferred display language.
  • Last-viewed tenant - for users with access to more than one organisation, recalls the tenant you last opened.

Analytics

We use a privacy-preserving analytics provider to understand which features are used most, where users encounter friction, and how we can improve the platform. Identifiers are anonymised, IP addresses are truncated, and we do not set third-party advertising cookies. These cookies are off by default and only set with your consent.

Third-party cookies

A small number of cookies are set by trusted third parties whose services are embedded into specific parts of the platform.

  • Stripe - sets cookies on billing and checkout pages to process payments securely and to detect fraud.
  • Sentry - may set a session identifier to correlate front-end errors with the same user session for diagnostic purposes.

These third parties operate under their own privacy notices and may transfer data outside the United Kingdom under appropriate safeguards.

How to manage cookies

You can manage your cookie preferences at any time through our in-product preferences centre, which records your choice and applies it on every subsequent visit. You can also manage cookies directly in your browser by deleting existing cookies and blocking new ones; please note that doing so may prevent parts of the platform from working as intended.

Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies through their settings. Instructions for the major browsers are available in their respective help centres.

Do Not Track signals

We respect the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal and the legacy Do Not Track (DNT) header. When either signal is detected, we treat it as a withdrawal of consent for non-essential cookies and disable analytics and functional cookies for the duration of your visit.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the cookies we use or in the law. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, prompt you to renew your consent through the preferences centre.
